Keeping Your Mind Happy
Keeping your mind happy during pregnancy is just as important as keeping your physical self healthy. It’s an amazing journey and definitely not one you want to look back on as an emotionally difficult time. Everyone knows that when a woman is pregnant, her hormones go into overdrive, so staying positive and happy can be slightly more difficult than normal…

Go outside. Nothing works better at lifting your mood then getting outside, whether you just sit and have a picnic or go on a walk, you’re sure to feel better after. Try to avoid outdoor activities that could result in a fall (horse-riding, cycling).
Try to limit junk food. Not only will your baby thank you for eating healthier but eating junk food makes a lot of people feel low!
Take some time to relax. Being pregnant can be a busy time… Lots to buy, people to see and a lot to get organised. It’s important to take yourself out of the crazy sometimes and chill out! Whether it’s a facemask, bath or binge watching your favourite tv show, make sure you take a time out or two!
Make time for family and friends. Spending time with the people you love is a great way to boost your mood. Grab a mocktail with the girls or a spa trip with your sister, have some fun!

Stay organised. Not having a plan and feeling like you have a million things to do is not good for your mind. Buy an organiser and get planning. Knowing when you’re sorting out what needs to be sorted, will fully allow you to relax when you need to.
Get enough sleep. Sleep deprivation is the worst thing for feeling low, so make sure you’re getting enough quality hours in. If you’re struggling with sleep, we have a blog post all about how to deal with sleep deprivation during pregnancy!
Selfcare is always really important but even more so when you’re pregnant. If you feel like you’re struggling with your mental health then speak to a healthcare professional. We feature some great things to encourage selfcare in our pregnancy boxes, to check those out visit www.pregnancymoonbox.com
